Sultan Al Jaber and Japanese Prime Minister sign UAE-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement Document


TOKYO – Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and UAE Special Envoy to Japan Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida have signed the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement Document between the United Arab Emirates and Japan, which was recently launched by His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nayan, Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office.

Commenting on the signing, Dr. Al Jaber affirmed that the UAE and Japan share strong and advanced strategic ties, which are supported by their leaders, serving to realize the aspirations of both nations for greater development and prosperity and to stimulate sustainable economic and social growth.

The UAE-Japan Strategic Partnership Agreement aims to strengthen relations between the two countries to advance their common interests, encouraging new diplomatic, economic, political, trade and investment collaborations. Key areas of the partnership include diplomacy, strengthening international development and humanitarian relief efforts. They also include business, trade, energy and industry cooperation by improving the business environment to encourage trade and investment in technology, manufacturing, infrastructure, artificial intelligence, health and SMEs, as well as other high priority sectors including agriculture, environmental conservation, climate change solutions, education, science and technology, and defense and security.

In addition, Japan has announced that citizens of the United Arab Emirates holding ordinary passports will be exempted from the visa requirement to enter Japan, with the announcement of the implementation date of the exemption to be announced. at a later date.

Dr. Al Jaber underlined the deep-rooted and distinguished friendship and cooperation between the two countries, which are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations.

He also said that Japan’s exemption of UAE citizens from the visa requirement is the result of UAE diplomatic efforts, led by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and of International Cooperation, noting that this measure will facilitate cooperation and travel, which will stimulate an increase in exchanged tourist, cultural and academic visits, as well as improve the prospects for cooperation to create new businesses and start new investments.
