What to expect at the upcoming IISS Shangri-La Dialogue

After a two-year hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the IISS Shangri-La Dialogue – a major international defense and security forum – returns to Singapore, from Friday to Sunday.

The 19th edition of the summit, which brings together defense ministers and senior officials primarily from across the Asia-Pacific region, will provide an opportunity to debate pressing security challenges and discuss topics of common interest, including the intensification of Sino-American rivalry, unresolved territorial disputes, China’s assertion in the region, North Korea’s military provocations and the repercussions of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
